Most of the American press has refused to print copies of cartoons the Muslim world is using as an excuse to ignite global rioting, bloodshed, destruction, hysteria and overall anarchy. The press says they don't want to contribute to the uproar or be insensitive to the feelings of Muslims. Maybe appeasement will work.
Meanwhile, right in the middle of all this rioting, the Amerian press decides to print pictures of a several year old 'scandal' from Abu Ghraib prison that portray fraternity hijinks of some poorly trained and disciplined soldiers. The U.N. finds this treatment of prisoners of war disturbing. The strongest statement the U.N. has issued regarding the Muslim riots is Kofi Aman stating they'll have to pay for property damage. Maybe appeasement will work.

The photos were obtained under freedom of information laws by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and broadcast on the Australian documentary programme Dateline.
“The photographs have to be released so the public have some idea of what happened at Abu Ghraib,” ACLU lawyer Amrit Singh told SBS on the programme.
“It is for the public to decide on looking at them what needs to be done.”
While the top headlines in today's American news are about a hunting accident involving the Vice President, there are actually committees being formed by the European Union to 'Weed out textbooks offensive to Muslims'. Maybe appeasement will work.
Secretary of State Dr. Condoleezza Rice has accused Syria and Iran of inciting the riots and has stated that the 'The world ought to call them on it.' The EU Justice and Security Commissioner, Franco Frattini has responded that regulations will be drawn up for the press to 'self-regulate', he says, "The press will give the Muslim world the message: we are aware of the consequences of exercising the right of free expression." Maybe appeasement will work.
As the mother of an American Soldier, it infuriates me for these groups with agendas that have nothing to do with the best interests of the United States of America to give aid, comfort and ASSISTANCE to our enemies.
Our soldiers will have to face this enemy and they will face an enemy empowered by the cowardice of those who will appease, keep their heads in the sand and focus on anything rather than the real problems we face.
In my eyes they have the blood of American soldiers on their hands.
